Artpeace
Art Apart is a virtual opportunity for providing English Language learning through art, specifically involving elements of making and appreciating radio drama, music and visual arts. By partnering with the National University of Singapore and the University of Hong Kong, undergraduate facilitators were recruited to bring quality education to refugee and migrant students along the border of Thailand and Myanmar. A 5-week teaching and learning package had been developed, which included facilitator training sessions, lesson plans, participation handouts and assignments, and relevant resource banks.
We are currently working on expanding this project, to create a virtual program that is ideal in this pandemic. We hope that the program can be replicated and implemented for a larger number of participants across Southeast Asia, especially those who utilize English as a 2nd Language. We believe this initiative increases accessibility to English, art and culture, and provides participants with an avenue for self-expression, educational opportunities and enhanced employability in the future.

Catering Care
Founded in summer 2020, Catering Care devotes to cultivate collective care and advocate for food justice, while reconnecting community segments through collaborative engagements.
Our main task is the purchase of delicious and nutritious meals from caterers struggling to sustain during the pandemic, using funds from public donations, and deliver them to the food insecurity population. During the process, we engage students and volunteers so that not only do they gain a deeper understanding of our community and its people, but also learn to appreciate values such as food justice and mindful eating. To further advocate for these values, we collaborate with likeminded organizations, such as the Tsz Shan Institute and Edible Spaces HKU, to hold various activities including compassionate communication workshops and rooftop farm tours.
As of January 2021, Catering Care has benefitted more than 300 individuals, partnered with two restaurants, and connected with more than 44 volunteers.
