Guidelines for Partnership

Eligibility

To qualify as a Hong Kong Learning Partner of the Common Core, your student group or organisation must satisfy all the following conditions:

  • Student groups MUST be run by current HKU students.
  • The purpose of your group or organisation should align with our mission of teaching trans-/interdisciplinarity, sustainable development goals, and/or student future readiness to HKU students.
  • A detailed plan of how you will work with the Common Core in the next 12 months
  • Be willing to contribute or participate in Common Core events if invited.
  • Update the Common Core on any changes to your mission or purpose, including changes to any of your key stakeholders.

Annual Review

Every Learning Partner will need to undergo a review process every year to ensure continued eligibility for partnership.

Support provided by the Common Core

  • A page on the Common Core website dedicated to your student group or organisation.
  • Priority access to funding via the Trandisciplinary Experiential Learning Fund for related events and activities, subject to approval from the CC Director. Please consult the details on the webpage and make an application.
  • Co-organize events under Common Core, including venue booking, promotion, publicity, registration management, subject to the approval from the CC Director.
  • For promotion and publicity, Common Core will assist in dissemination through online and offline channels, including our Facebook, Instagram and event calendar, under the following conditions:
    • For Instagram: Images must be square, ideally 1080 x 1080 pixels (.jpeg or .png file). If posts contain too much text, poor resolution, or poorly designed, we will ask for a re-design before posting.
    • Posting on the Event Calendars on the Common Core website.
  • We are not able to post videos on UVision for Learning Partners.
  • Free booking of the Common Core / BASc Lounge (MB 150). Requests should be sent to us as early as possible and approval is on a case-by-case basis.
  • We recommend student groups interested in entrepreneurial pursuits to be incubated with Innovation Wing.

Register with CCSO

Student groups are encouraged to register with Co-curricular Support Office (CCSO), in order to be eligible to book facilities managed by CEDARS or use HKU to represent yourselves: https://www.ccso.hku.hk/
