“A Minute Something Else Enters” is a community project collaborated with the teaching staff at LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, aimed to explore the history of pandemic across centuries of time within the boundary in Hong Kong. The project anticipates audio-guided immersive theatre at HKU and surrounding in 2022 January, in addition to three online to offline sharing sessions to swarm out into the interfaces of the pandemic, urban and daily life with the lens of architecture, medical profession and literature. “A Minute Something Else Enters” is supported by MEHU, HKU Libraries and Common Core.

About the Hosts:

Mr Yan Pat To

Artistic Director of Reframe Theatre. Elected Council Member and the Chairman of the committee of Literary Art of Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Yan is the first ethnic Chinese playwright awarded by the Berliner Festspiele Theatertreffen Stückemarkt om 2016, TV host of Literature Night series produced by RTHK. He is currently the House Author of Germany Nationatheater Mannheim (2021-2022).

Miss Wong Ka-Ying

Wong Ka-ying is an artist and writer based in Hong Kong. She received her BFA degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013 and obtained her M.Phil. in Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2021. A keen observer of the art community and society, Wong critically reflects on social, cultural and gender issues today through a wide range of platforms from performance to social media. A passionate writer, curator and arts educator, Wong has been taken part in various public sharings, seminars, panel discussions and talks.

Miss Sonia Wong

Based in Hong Kong, Sonia Wong now teaches gender and culture-related subjects at the Gender Studies Programme of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include lesbian identity, female sexuality, film, and new media. She is the founder of Reel Women Hong Kong, the first and only independent film festival in Hong Kong devoted to the promotion of female-created films and artworks, as well as gender equality and awareness, in society. In 2018, she co-founded the Women’s Festival with Chantal Wong from Eaton HK and Vera Lui from Sally Coco. Apart from being a community organiser and advocate, she is also a writer and visual artist.
