Hey everyone, this is Rohit!

Now, a lot of people know me for a wide variety of things, and indeed I have dabbled in a wide variety of fields including public speaking, event organising (especially for all things related to TED), community mobilising, writing and performing poetry (or “rap”), to name but a few.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I went to Diocesan Boys’ School and eventually to CUHK for my first degree. During my time there I received numerous accolades and accomplished many firsts for an ethnic minority student, eventually graduating with a First Class Honours in Public Health with an avid interest in Health Systems, Economics and Financing.

My journey eventually brought me to HKU, where I continue to pursue my further studies in Medicine, where I am currently a final-year student, and am the first minority to pursue an MBBS as a postgraduate in Hong Kong, which came with a lot of press coverage for my personal story, including my dreams and aspirations that brought me to medical school.

Currently, I aspire to become a surgeon in the future, and I always aspire to break new grounds in the field of Medicine by marrying my interests in research, writing, speaking and advocacy, as well as my firm belief in knowledge exchange and transfer via education. I also have a passion for languages, culture, gastronomy, art and history to name a few. In fact, I speak seven languages to varying degrees of fluency, and have always got the perfect story for whatever situation we might find ourselves in. I also have a Chinese name. Ask and ye shall be answered.

With respect to Common Core, I wish to offer my acumen and experience, as well as my idea of best practices in organising events, so that I may contribute meaningfully as a Student Consultant. Common Core has been my home on campus, and I hope that feeling may be shared by other students too.
